“The object of a new month is not that we should have a new month.
It is that we should have a new soul.”
G. K. Chesterton
It’s a brand new month which means fresh start.
The sun is shining, there’s a cool breeze fluttring through my window, green tea and lemon in my cup; all in all it’s been a great start to the day.
We are 7 months into 2018, honestly where has the time gone?
During my reflection period this morning I read about the importance of redeeming time. We are all gifted with the same hours during the day. In that sense it would be fair to say that time is one of the few resources that is allocated in egalitarian terms. However, where we all differ is how we make use of the time allocated to us.
I’m sure you’ve seen the infamous quote circulated online which simply says’ “You have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyonce.” Pretty sobering thought right?
We might not be on our way to achieving pop star levels of fame, but we can make sure that we are making most of the time given to us.
After receiving news today about the passing of someone close to my family we took time to reflect on the moments spent together that brought us joy and made us smile. Lets never forget that life is truly a gift and so is our time.
My advice for this new month is to be productive, do the things you love and enjoy your time.
As Mother Teresa so eloquently put it “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
