Hope you’ve all had a great start to 2019!

It’s been a productive start to of the year and I’m feeling good about the rest of 2019.

Truth is, this sense of confidence didn’t just happen. I had to push the re-set button, which for me means doing the little things that have a huge impact on your life. Simply put; respecting the basics.

People who know me have often described me as a tidy person. Even better my home is often labelled “immaculate” and “organised”. As someone who is house proud and can be very particular about my environment these words are like music to my ears.

However, even the most house proud person will have stuff lingering around their home that is just taking up space. At the top of the year I went through bedroom drawers, my wardrobe, beauty products and got rid of anything which at this point can only be described as clutter.

We often underestimate how much we accumulate over the years. Clutter in the physical and spiritual sense can take a toll on our wellbeing. Taking the time to give your home a thorough detox help you feel like your life is getting in order. This is a good precursor to perusing the rest of your goals. Before you embark on the journey of world domination, why not ensure that your house is in order? Trust me if you need to get an extra pep in your step this a good place to start.

Thankfully, we are having more conversations about the detrimental effect fast fashion has on our society. Also from a financial standpoint in the long term it just doesn’t make sense. When it comes to shopping this year I am thinking quality not quantity. Truthfully, I’d love to be build a capsule wardrobe. That’s not to say I’ll never give in to trends but lets face it, especially if your a blogger, we fill up our wardrobe with pieces we will only wear once. Which in turn only creates more clutter!

Streamline your wardrobe, donate or even sell items you no longer need. This can be hard because most women I know hold on to clothing just incase.  It’s a new year ladies it’s time to let go. Streamlining your wardrobe feels so satisfying and this sense of satisfaction spills into your real life.

This year I’m focusing on doing the basics. In my opinion there is no point making grand plans to change my life without doing the little things that contribute to my physical and spiritual well being. Get back to basics; stay hydrated, get some rest, de-clutter your physical enviornment and trust me you’ll feel unstoppable. At least that’s how I feel.

Let me know what getting back to basics means to you.
